Lotus Lien is a visual artist who works intuitively in clay, encaustics, acrylic, and oil. She is inspired by the everyday things she see around her, memories of passing moments, and emotions that cannot be conveyed by words.

They are translated into the nuances of her work through color, form, composition, and marks.

Lotus was born in Taipei, Taiwan and came to the U.S. when she was 4 and has lived most of her life in the East Coast and the Midwestern U.S. She has travelled to many countries, including repeated visits to Taiwan.

After receiving an initial degree in business and working as an International Product Manager for many years, she returned to school to study art and received her BFA in interdisciplinary arts from the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA) in 2009, with a focus in Ceramics and Painting. Her work is shown locally throughout the Northeast.

She currently lives with her husband and daughter in Manchester, NH and continues to paint and create functional and sculptural ceramic work that is inspired by every day life.
